Submissions Guidelines Please read all of the submission requirement information before contacting us or submitting your manuscript. Please do not send us your complete manuscript unless we ask for it on the basis of your proposal. NEVER send us your original. We look at everything we receive and we would love to answer you personally, but this is simply not possible. Because of the large volume of emails and manuscripts we receive we can’t give you a personal response. It takes approximately 6 to 8 weeks to review manuscripts. If your query or submission fits into our program, we will contact you. If you have not heard from us within 10 weeks, your manuscript is not appropriate for our program. Proposal Package 1) COVER LETTER THAT INCLUDES A SHORT SYNOPSIS OF THE BOOK Your letter should be no more than two pages long and should give a brief synopsis of your manuscript, tell how it contributes to its field and what makes it truly unique. You should also as specifically as you can tell us who the audience is for your book. Give a brief biography of yourself, noting any specific qualifications for writing your subject, including special experience or background pertinent to the manuscript you are submitting. Outline any marketing or publicizing of the book that you plan to do. Your cover letter should also contain your complete contact information including phone number, street and email address.
The table of contents should be a comprehensive chapter by chapter outline with a synopsis of each chapter. You must include a complete introduction and one or two complete sample chapters. (Not necessarily the first one or two) If your book will include illustration, please include small sample copies of your work. DO NOT send original art work or manuscripts. 3) WE CANNOT RETURN PROPOSALS OR MANUSCRIPTS. DO NOT SEND SASE OR POSTAGE. Format All proposals and manuscripts must be submitted using the following formats.
Proposals must be typed; we cannot and will not read handwritten manuscripts, faxed, or web-based submissions. Your query letter should provide enough information about your work that the acquisitions editor can make an informed decision and contact you for further details. Just a reminder that all publishers including us, receive an enormous number of proposals to read and it take time to give your proposal or manuscript the attention and consideration it deserves.
